Born and bred in Chicago's Logan Square and Humboldt Park, Selene Montijo is a proud first-generation Mexican American whose story is rooted in the culture — not just inspired by it.

Before the microphone, there was the pavement. Selene came up breakdancing, bgirling, and throwing up graffiti — a true product of Chicago's underground arts scene. That raw, unfiltered connection to creativity never left her. It became the foundation for everything she built.

Today, Selene is the voice and vision behind The Media Lounge — a nationally recognized podcast and media company that brings the most compelling figures in entertainment, music, comedy, and television to the table. Her gift is making people feel seen, heard, and celebrated.

An award-winning Director and Actress, Selene also serves as a Producer and Director for the Chicago Film Alliance — bringing the same fearless creative vision to the screen that she brings to the mic. She doesn't just interview icons. She tells their stories. And now, she wants to tell yours.
